Hastings Aquarium has been sitting on the seafront for well over a century and is one of the oldest visitor attractions in the town.
You'll find all the usual favourites, including sharks, rays, seahorses, octopus and tropical fish, spread across a series of themed exhibits and underwater displays. The attraction isn't huge, but that's part of the appeal. You can see everything without spending half the day walking around.
The aquarium sits right next to Hastings beach, making it an easy addition to a day out rather than somewhere you need to plan an entire trip around.
You’ll get super close to the animals, and there’s an underwater tunnel and a ray tank too.

Hastings Aquarium is the sort of attraction that works best as part of a wider day out.
Most people combine it with a walk along the seafront, a trip to the beach or a visit to old town. That makes the ticket price easier to justify than if you were travelling purely for the aquarium itself.
Booking online is usually the best option, and busy periods such as weekends and school holidays tend to attract the biggest crowds.
Hastings Aquarium feels exactly how a seaside aquarium should feel.
It's relaxed, easy to get around and packed with enough sharks, rays and colourful fish to keep most people happy for a couple of hours.
The location helps a lot too. You're never far from the beach, arcades, fish and chips or everything else people come to Hastings for in the first place.
If you're visiting Hastings and fancy a break from the weather, or just want something different to do for a few hours, Hastings Aquarium is well worth a visit.
