Laka is bike insurance for cyclists, by cyclists. It’s a bit different to your normal bike insurance, which you might get on your contents insurance (and rarely covers more than £500). It's built for the bike lovers, who are cycling regularly, such as commuters, or the weekend bike riders (on both mountain bikes and road bikes).
The general coverage is the best out there. There’s much better payouts should an accident happen. You decide the value of your equipment (and accessories like your helmet) and you get back what you specify, rather than the second hand value of a replacement. You also get emergency travel to get you home (£200), the cost of renting a new bike (£200) to keep cycling, and loads more, such as cover in races and cover for third parties if you have an accident.

And for the cost, instead of being a set figure per month, the monthly cost all depends on how many other riders make a claim (this is called a collective), so if there’s not many claims, your monthly premium can go down. Don’t worry, it’s not expensive, it’s great value, and the price depends on your gear and the cover you’d like.
Oh yes, and there’s no set contracts, so you can opt-in for a few months and then cancel, and restart again next year. It’s all up to you.
