Sea Life Brighton is one of Brighton's most famous attractions, although plenty of people walk straight past it without realising they're passing the world's oldest operating aquarium.
The building itself is worth seeing. Opened back in 1872, it sits right on Brighton seafront and still has many of its original Victorian features. It's a slightly different experience to some of the newer aquariums around the UK, with the historic architecture being part of the attraction.
Inside you'll find everything you'd expect from a Sea Life centre. Sharks, rays, jellyfish, seahorses, turtles and hundreds of other sea creatures spread across a series of themed zones and underwater tunnels.
Sea Life Brighton works for almost any age. Small children are obsessed with the sharks, adults spend half the visit reading the information boards, and everyone seems to stop for longer than expected when they get to the underwater tunnel.
It's also one of those attractions that's surprisingly useful on a rainy day. Brighton is brilliant when the sun is shining, but if the weather turns, Sea Life is often near the top of people's backup plans.
Sea Life Brighton often offers tickets from £11 if you book at least 24 hours before your visit.
The cheapest tickets aren't always available and depend on demand, so it's worth checking dates as early as possible if you're planning a trip.
Click the link above, select your date and see whether the £11 tickets are available. If they are, the discount will be applied automatically when booking.
As always, terms and conditions apply.
Like most attractions, Sea Life Brighton is much cheaper if you book online in advance. Turn up on the day and ticket prices can be noticeably higher.
The attraction isn't huge, so we'd definitely recommend booking ahead rather than paying walk-up prices. That's especially true if the £11 tickets are available.
Brighton isn't a cheap day out these days, so any saving on attractions is usually welcome.
Sea Life Brighton has something most aquariums don't, and that’s history.
The sea creatures are obviously the main attraction, but the Victorian building gives the whole place a bit more character than many modern visitor attractions. It feels like part aquarium and part Brighton landmark.
We also like that it's easy to fit into a day out. You're already on the seafront, close to the pier, beach, restaurants and everything else Brighton is known for.
If you're visiting Brighton with children, or just looking for something to do when the weather isn't cooperating, Sea Life Brighton is well worth a visit.
