Woburn Safari Park in a nutshell

Woburn Safari Park is one of those attractions that feels completely different from a normal zoo.

Instead of walking around looking into enclosures, you're driving through them. Lions, tigers, bears, rhinos, giraffes and monkeys are all viewed from your car as you make your way through the safari route. It’s really great and well worth a visit.

Woburn has been around since the 1970s and is one of the largest drive-through safari parks in the UK. The animals have large areas to roam, which makes the experience feel much closer to a real safari than a traditional zoo visit.

It's also much bigger than you are probably expecting. The safari drive is only part of the attraction. There's a separate foot safari, sea lion demonstrations, indoor and outdoor play areas, keeper talks and plenty more to fill a day.

Our thoughts

Woburn Safari Park feels much closer to an adventure than a traditional zoo.

The drive-through safari is what most people remember. Seeing lions resting a few metres from your car or giraffes wandering across the road never really gets old, no matter how many times you've visited.

The fact there's so much to do outside the safari route helps too. You could easily spend half a day driving around and still have plenty left to see afterwards.

If you're looking for a family day out that's a bit different from the usual zoo, theme park or attraction, Woburn Safari Park is well worth a visit.
