Cryptocom is one of the OGs of crypto exchanges (a place to buy and sell crypto), and a huge company. It operates worldwide, is very successful, and is particularly popular in the US, where it even renamed a whole stadium in LA to the Crypto.com Arena.

It was founded in 2016, and has over 150 million customers worldwide (that’s a lot, and very old for crypto). And is typically a bit of a trend setter in crypto, launching features where others soon follow, such as recently launching their popular Level Up program, where you can save big on fees and earn rewards (such as cashback) by opting in to a monthly subscription (or holding CRO tokens (Crypto.com's own tokens) rather than paying trading fees each time you trade, which can potentially save and earn you a small fortune (we’ll cover this in detail below).
Crypto.com is designed for all types of traders, with two separate services, one for those new to crypto investing and trading (called Crypto.com App) and one for advanced traders (called Exchange). We’ll cover all of these below too.
Overall, the fees are low, it’s very reliable and trustworthy, and the platform itself is great for all types of investors and traders. If you’ve heard enough already, head over to Crypto.com to get started.
That’s a quick summary, if you’re keen to learn more, let’s dive into the details.
Crypto.com is great for beginners to advanced traders. Learn more on the Crypto.com website.
Yes, Crypto.com is great for beginners. Over the years they have developed their app (and website) to make buying and selling crypto super easy. Instead of it looking like a very complicated trading system (like some other crypto exchanges), Crypto.com’s app is clean and easy to navigate. You can simply click buy or trade and you’ll be able to buy the crypto you want in minutes.

That’s not to say it’s not advanced, and the trading system for advanced traders is excellent. You get the best of both worlds with Crypto.com. There’s ‘Crypto.com App’ for those just getting started and everyday users, and then the ‘Exchange’ for advanced users, which is packed full of trading features.
There’s also tonnes of educational content for you to learn the basics of crypto and how everything works. Alongside how Crypto.com works!

There’s a huge range of options and features with Crypto.com all suited to different types of traders and investors. The main platform options are Crypto.com App and Exchange. Let’s run through them.
The Crypto.com App is where you’ll start if you’re new to crypto investing, and even if you’re more experienced and prefer the simplicity it provides. It’s a user-friendly phone app (and on their website which you can use on a desktop computer) where you can buy crypto such as bitcoin with ease, and in just a few minutes. There’s no complicated features, and no complicated graphs or charts (which is fairly common with most crypto exchanges). You simply pick the crypto you’d like, and hit buy, and it turns up in your Crypto.com account.

Crypto.com will hold the crypto for you, so you don’t have to worry about setting up your own wallet or anything that can be a bit confusing to start with (wallets are used to store your crypto).
You can log back in whenever you like and get an up-to-date valuation of your crypto, and then buy and sell whenever you like.
There’s over 400 cryptocurrencies available to buy and sell, and it’s low cost (for instance there’s no fees to deposit Pounds (GBP) like with other platforms.
There are some basic features you can use (which aren’t too complicated), and super useful, for instance setting a target price you’d like to buy or sell for, and setting up recurring buys (such as monthly).

You’ll also be able to set yourself up with a Crypto.com Visa Card where you can spend in shops just like your bank card. And you can get up to 5% cashback when you spend, and 10% on other things such as buying gift cards (T&Cs apply).

If you keep your balance in your Crypto.com account you’ll also be able to earn rewards on your crypto balance (via something called staking). This effectively means earning interest on your balance, and you have the choice to lock it away for a certain amount of time for more rewards too (or keep it flexible for when you need it).
The Crypto.com Exchange is a powerful, full featured trading platform, which if you are an advanced trader, you’ll likely be familiar with something similar. It has the core chart in the trading screen, with the order book and things like trading history.

You’ll also be able to see your current holdings, positions, open orders and things like that all in one place, meaning you won't need to keep clicking around your account to see important information.
Crypto.com Exchange is great, and has got pretty much everything you’d need or want. The layout is good, and the pricing and functionality is reliable. With Crypto.com the volume of trades going through the books is huge making it quicker to trade and reliable (as it’s one of the biggest crypto exchanges out there).
Note: this is also an app on your phone too - it’s called Crypto.com Exchange App (instead of Crypto.com App, which is the more basic version).
Level Up is a great feature with Crypto.com where you can reduce your trading fees to zero (yes zero!), and extra things such as higher rewards (interest) on your balances. Depending on how much you trade and your balance size, you could benefit from both saving fees and earning more cash, which sounds like a bit of a win-win to us.

To join the Level Up membership, you can either pay a subscription fee, or lock away some of your crypto for 12 months in the Crypto.com token, which is called Cronos (CRO).
Note: the Level Up program is optional, you can always have a free account with Crypto.com where you’ll pay fees depending on what services you use and trades you make.
There’s 3 options you can pick from:
With the free plan (a normal Crypto.com account) you’ll still get a physical and digital card to spend crypto in the real world.
With the Level Up program, you can cancel whenever you like too.
The range of cryptocurrencies on Crypto.com is good, there’s over 400 coins to trade. Crypto.com only lists the most popular coins, rather than every coin out there, but adds popular new coins very quickly when they come out.

There is of course the super popular coins such as bitcoin and ethereum, and all the latest memecoins.
What’s great with Crypto.com is the way they showcase all the coins, on both their website and app, with the latest trending coins, what’s buzzing on X (Twitter), the top movers and newly listed. So you get to see what’s happening in the markets without really leaving the app - meaning you can immediately see if there’s anything happening with a new memecoin or a new coin being talked about.
With each coin, they also show the essentials, such as circulating supply, the coin website and the whitepaper. Among all the trading and price information.
Crypto.com offers you the option to stake your crypto if you want to, which means you can earn rewards (essentially interest, often called yield) on your balance (e.g. 5% per year).
This is unique to crypto, but very similar to a cash savings account paying interest. The coins are used as security so Crypto.com can take part in staking. As a reward for taking part in helping to run the blockchain network (such as ethereum), by providing computing power, the network provides regular rewards to stakers, which are more tokens - so you essentially earn interest by pledging some crypto and helping to run the network.
You can get your crypto back when you need to, but it’s often locked away for a period of time (such as 90 days), or indefinitely and you give notice to get your crypto back (e.g. 30 days).
The rates do vary, and each blockchain network is different. And there’s a huge range of staking options. With Crypto.com you can opt into this easily from within your account, and Crypto.com handles everything behind the scenes.
You can also get yourself a prepaid card with Crypto.com and with this you can spend out and about, such as high street shops, and online stores. Wherever Visa is accepted you can use your Crypto.com card.

When you spend on your card, you’ll actually earn cashback rewards from Crypto.com too, which are paid in the CRO token.
The rewards you get depend on which card you opt for, and range from free and as low as $4.99 per month to no subscription fee but staking CRO tokens (explained above).
The rewards range from 2% to 8% cashback (CRO) on everyday spending (that’s a lot), and 1.5% to 15% cashback (CRO) on travel spending (that’s huge!).
Crypto.com has different fees depending on how you use the platform, as it’s suited to all different types of investors and traders. There’s also the Level Up program, where you could opt for a membership option, and get zero trading fees, and a whole host of other benefits (described above).
Let’s run through the main fees…
There may be a transaction fee when you buy or sell on the Crypto.com app, this is called an admin fee (e.g. 1% fee when you buy or sell). It varies depending on the crypto you are buying and a range of other factors, and there might not be a fee. You’ll be shown the fee before you buy.
Note: if you use Crypto.com Exchange you’ll pay maker/taker fees instead (described below).
If you want to use your bank card (e.g. debit card) there is typically a fee ranging from 2.99% to 3.99%, so it's best to transfer money from your bank instead.
There’s a fee of £1.90 per withdrawal to your bank account.
For the Crypto.com Exchange, which is suited for advanced traders, instead of a set fee per transaction, you’ll pay either a maker or taker fee when you make a trade. The rate is personalised to you, based on your trading volume over the last 30 days - the more you trade, the lower the fees, and it depends how much of Crypto.com’s token (CRO) you hold. For instance if you hold enough CRO (50,000 CRO) you can get 0% maker fees, and if you hold more, you’ll even get rebates when you trade (money paid to you).

A maker fee is where you place an order to the exchange for a certain price (e.g. a limit order). You are making volume for the market, as your order will remain until it is filled, and therefore it typically has lower fees than taker fees.

A taker fee is where you buy or sell at the market price, so it’s immediate. You are taking volume from the market.

Nuts About Money tip: you can reduce maker fees to 0% by holding a CRO balance.
The customer support is good overall. There’s a huge help centre on their website, with pretty much every question you might have answered.
There’s also a good live-chat feature, where you can speak to customer support, and the response times are pretty good. Unfortunately there’s no phone support.
Yes it’s safe to use Crypto.com, it’s a very well established crypto exchange, and super popular.

Customer funds and crypto are held securely in accounts and wallets managed by Crypto.com, and held as reserves with a ratio of 1:1 - meaning that they simply hold all the money and crypto customers deposit, rather than doing things such as lending it out.
This means customers can withdraw all their money whenever they like, and there won’t be any issues.
The majority is in offline storage, meaning not accessible to hackers, and monitored 24/7.
Crypto.com also has a focus on security and privacy for their exchange, and have a range of certifications that have assessed their security and compliance. And they undergo regular audits.
Here’s a quick recap and the pros and cons of Crypto.com:
We think Crypto.com is a great crypto exchange, it’s trustworthy, reliable and low cost, and with the Level Up program (membership option) it might just top the list for all types of traders - reducing trading fees to zero, and earning rewards (such as higher interest on holdings), all for a monthly fee, or by owning CRO tokens.
Feature wise, it’s really good, and has everything you’d need or want to trade crypto and the platform itself for advanced users is excellent. Trades are fast and due to the size of the volume going through the exchange, very reliable. It is an absolutely enormous exchange across the world, with over 150 million customers.
For beginners, and those who prefer long term investing to regular trading, the Crypto.com App is great, and strips away all the complicated trading screens and features to give a nice and simple place to buy, sell and hold crypto.
There’s over 400 coins to trade, which is enough for most people, with new popular coins added very quickly.
The customer support is good, and the live-chat feature is great (quite rare in crypto).
We’re giving Crypto.com a big 5 stars. It’s really great, and a combination of the great technology, reliability and low trading fees (particularly with the Level Up program) makes it a top option, and definitely worth checking out.
