With the Level Up program, you won’t pay any trading fees, which is a fee you would otherwise pay every time you buy or sell crypto (make a trade).
With the Plus Level Up membership, there’s no trading fees up to $20,000 per month trading volume. With the Pro Level Up membership, this increases to $50,000 per month trading volume and with the Private Level Up membership it’s unlimited.
Trading fees are typically the largest cost you would pay when trading crypto, so getting these for free is a huge game changer. It can also mean that some trades or trading strategies could now be profitable when they otherwise wouldn’t be too (when factoring in fees).
With Crypto.com¹, their trading fees are based on a maker / taker fees based model. That’s where the fee changes based on your specific trades…

Once you’re a Level Up member, you’ll get access to cashback rewards when spending on the Crypto.com¹ debit card, where you can spend your crypto in real world places such as shops and restaurants. It’s a Visa card, so accepted pretty much everywhere, and in almost every country across the world.
The cashback is paid in CRO (Crypto.com’s own token), which can be converted to any currency or coin you like.
With the Plus Level Up membership, you’ll get 2% cashback. With the Pro Level Up Membership you’ll get 3% and with the Private Level Up membership you’ll get 4-6%.
That is a huge amount of cashback, and rivals (and typically beats) the top rewards credit cards.

You’ll also get 0% foreign exchange fees on your Crypto.com¹ card. This is a great perk, and means you can use it as a very cost effective travel money card for holidays.
Imagine you are spending in US Dollars, but you have Pounds (GBP) in your account. When spending on your Crypto.com card in US Dollars, Visa will convert this automatically for you (at the very low Visa exchange rate), but you’ll sometimes also face a Crypto.com fee (depending on the currency) which can be up to 2%.
With the Level Up program, there’s no extra fees, they’re 0%. You’ll still pay the Visa exchange rate, as it’s a Visa card, but this is effectively the best possible rate from any provider.
You can’t really beat 0% for your travel money spending (or any foreign currency transaction). Pair that with the cashback on card spending, and it’s probably one of the best cards out there.

You can earn rewards on your CRO tokens (Crypto.com’s¹ native token) if you lock them away for a certain period of time (e.g. a percentage back on the amount you lock away), and with the Level Up program, these rewards are boosted. To get the Level Up membership, you either need to pay a monthly fee, which varies depending on the type of membership you want, or lock away some CRO (Cronos token), and the more you lock away, the higher level of membership you’ll get.
As a recap, Plus is either £3.99 or locking away £400 of CRO, Pro is £24.99 per month or locking away £4,000 of CRO, and Private is locking away at least £40,000 worth of CRO.
The lock up period is 12 months, so it’s a big commitment.
The main benefit of opting for locking away your CRO is that you save the monthly fee, so the Level Up membership effectively becomes free. Although there’s no option to pay monthly for the Private membership, and it’s technically staking for 12 months.
The drawback of this is that the CRO token price will fluctuate (both up and down), so when the time comes to unlock your tokens, they may be worth less. But, they could also be worth more. It simply adds that element of risk versus simply paying monthly.
If you are more risk-averse, paying monthly is a great option, and you would simply be paying monthly for the perks, with the main perk being zero trading fees. Depending on how much you trade, you might earn back that monthly fee relatively quickly and then for the rest of the month you’re saving and earning rewards.

We can’t say for sure which option is best, as it’s really down to you and your risk tolerance. You could opt for the monthly fee option to start with, and when you start utilising all the benefits and see the impact of the zero trading fees, you could opt for the lock-up option and save that monthly fee too.
